In the soon-to-be-immortal words of Spinner Reyerson - Decorah Iowa's Ambassador of Chaos - "If the Vikings rode bikes, those bikes would have been Pugsleys."
Without any goading from us and with no official recognition from Surly Bikes Intergalactic (other than me shrugging my shoulders and saying something like, "I've heard you have plenty of worse ideas), Spinner and his entourage will be putting on a little event in their neck of the woods (which also happens to be my neck of the woods.) He's a relatively recent convert to the church of fat tires and he'd like to preach the good word to yinz all - and he'd like to give you $500. I will elaborate:
Come to Decorah next Saturday, February 26th. Race your fat tired bicycle (any bike is welcome to compete, but only certified FatBike pilots will be eligible to claim the fabulous prizes) from nearby Cresco back into our little Nordic Wonderland - about 26 miles give or take. Winner gets the dough and a "Large Hatchet."
After the race, there will be $2 Miller High Life tall boys and more bicycle-related competitive endeavors - all culminating in the crowning of the Pugsley World Champion - which will likely not be the winner of the race, because when people race, we all lose.

Google map of the course is here.
Pensacoloa Florida is here (but don't go there because that's not where the race is.)
