Lowside

What is the point of anything? Lowside is part BMX bike, part mountain bike, part klunker — you can’t pin it down to a point. But we’ll try for you: Lowside’s point is to have fun by opening up as many playful paved and dirt options as possible on every ride.

Indeed. Lowside is a bike for folks whose idea of riding around town includes dirt shortcuts, curb hopping, and some light mischief.

If you plan to spend most of your time on singletrack, we’d steer you toward Karate Monkey. Its geometry leans more toward trail riding, it can fit 29″ wheels and tires, and it has more mounts to keep you hydrated deep in the woods. But if you plan to dip in and out of the trails and seek out urban features as you ride around town, Lowside is your ride.

Very much so. Lowside’s stripped-down single-speed ethos means it’s always ready to roll when you need to get out of the house. Plus, its steel frame and handlebar are durable enough to hold up to grown-up BMX riding and other horseplay. Get out there and have fun, you fun-haver. 

Sure. But it depends a bit on what your “everyday” looks like. If you’re regularly riding to work downtown with khakis, a lunch, and a laptop, you might find Lowside lacking in cargo and fender mounts. But if “everyday” means cruising around without a plan and just riding what looks fun, Lowside is a bike you should consider.
