Big Dummy

We’ve seen it happen many times. Especially if your family has two cars in the mix, Big Dummy makes replacing one a tempting proposition. Not only is our longtail cargo hauling bike far cheaper to own and operate — it’s easier to park, eliminates most traffic from your life, and fills your face with that fresh air everyone’s always raving about.

There are many types of cargo bikes out there, and they are all awesome. We chose the longtail design for Big Dummy because it rides the same as a regular bike. Longtails are also easier to maneuver off-road in case you’re hauling trail work tools or firewood deep into the woods somewhere, which we recommend.

“Need” is a loaded word here…folks rode the analog Big Dummy for more than a decade without electric assist and most of them turned out fine. There’s no feeling quite like hauling a tree home from the nursery or your friend’s loveseat with your own pedal power. But we admit that the extra nudge you get with Big Easy is nice if you’re hauling kids around town or you’re chronically late. It’s kinda up to you and how you plan to use it. 

Big Dummy is more useful to families than frozen dinners, chore lists, and iPads combined. Picture whisking your child off to school in fresh morning air and skipping the dreaded drop-off line of cars. Then getting to work without hunting for parking. Then picking up Junior (and a week’s groceries) on the ride back home — all while getting the exercise your mind and body have been begging you for. 

Oh yeah. Food or supply delivery, dry cleaning pickup and dropoff, even some tradespeople —  if your business involves pickup or delivery, or taking your tools to spots around town, Big Dummy can be a big help. You may not get everywhere faster, but you’ll save time not circling for parking spot like a vulture. Plus, everyone loves the sight of a cargo bike.
